Built in 1922, the Silver Dollar Pancake House, like most of us, has seen many changes take place in and around Corona. In the 1930's we were Circle City Drive-In Car Hop Restaurant, where it was the "In" place to be for local high school students. In the late 1940's we were a Mexican Restaurant and in the early 1950's we became the Silver Dollar Pancake House featuring Home Style Cooking.

In 1976 at the age of 13, Robert began working there as a dishwasher, later training to be a cook. In 1980 Diana started her career at the restaurant.

Although they attended the same high school, Robert and Diana didn't start dating until they were both employed at the restaurant. They were married in 1984.

With hard work and lots of effort, Robert and Diana purchased the Silver Dollar Pancake House in 1991 from the same man that had first hired Robert.

In October 26,1994 the Silver Dollar Pancake House suffered a fire. This event devested them but, once again hard work and dedication payed off. On November 17, 1995 with only $100 in their pockets Robert and Diana, with the help of their two children, Little Robert and Jennifer, they reopened the Silver Dollar Pancake House. Opening day there was no fanfaire, no ribbon cuttings, just the four of them prepared for much hard work. It paid off and and the restaurant was once again successful.

On October 24, 2004, almost 10 years to the day, the Silver Dollar Pancake House was hit with another fire. This time the restaurant was closed for only 2 months and reopened in December of the same year.

After all of this, Robert still works right along with the other cooks. Diane keeps herself busy waitressing, hostessing and cashiering. When she's not busy helping the other employees, she is taking care of the accounting side of the business.

"Even though we work hard, our customers are worth it. All of us here take pride and enjoyment in sharing our Home Style Cooking with you. Our cinnamon rolls, bread pudding and tapioca are all homemade."

"We're happy to have you here and hope you enjoy our food and service as much as we enjoy you!"
